WHAT'S ONE STORY OR IMPORTANT ASPECT YOU ALWAYS TELL PEOPLE ABOUT YOUR TIME ABROAD?
Something that I always tell people about my time abroad would be is the independence and experiences I got to have. Being able to explore the city, the country, and around Europe on the weekends while taking courses and an internship was very freeing. Being able to plan and go on these adventures with new friends was an amazing experience. Especially as someone coming from a small rural college town, it was a completely different lifestyle to have new areas to constantly explore and plan on our own time.
HOW DID YOU ENGAGE WITH THE LOCAL COMMUNITY WHILE ABROAD?
I was able to engage with the local community because I was able to participate in an internship for a local nonprofit business during my time in Dublin. Engaging with my co-workers was the best way I got to learn about Irish culture both professional and cultural. I was also able to go out and meet those who use the business' services. Which allowed me to bond more with the local community.
