UNYP offers courses across a range of disciplines, and all are taught in English, providing you with a rich selection of diverse course options. Complete your experience with CEA CAPA Prague Center courses in business, economics, or political science, or you can choose from unique courses that bring the diverse history, culture, and art of the Czech Republic to life, incorporating components that expose you to different elements of Prague, from monuments and museums to businesses, local food markets, and government agencies.

University of New York in Prague
Founded in 1998, University of New York in Prague (UNYP) is a private higher education institution established in cooperation with the State University of New York, Empire State College.
With over 900 students from over 60 different nationalities, UNYP is an inherently international institution. Courses are taught entirely in English and in the American teaching style, with faculty utilizing small class sizes in their instruction. The campus is located in the heart of the city center just steps away from key attractions like Old Town Square in a more residential and tree lined beautiful neighborhood called Vinohrady, after the old Castle Vineyards.
CEA CAPA students have access to over 100 different courses, all taught in English, from UNYP’s programs in Business Administration, Communication and Media, International Relations, Psychology, IT Management, Finance, Marketing, Sports Management, and Political Science.

Accreditation
University of New York in Prague (UNYP) is recognized by the Czech Ministry of Education, Youth, and Sports as a private higher education institution. The School of Business at UNYP is also accredited through the International Accreditation Council for Business Education (IACBE), a US-based business accreditation body. In addition, UNYP’s bachelor’s degree programs lead to the award of an American bachelor’s diploma from SUNY Empire State College, which is accredited by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education. UNYP is also accredited by the British Accreditation Council (BAC).

Classroom and Information
- University of New York in Prague faculty is international and experienced in integrating American and European students in an American-style learning environment.
- Attendance is mandatory and monitored by professors and UNYP academic staff.
- Average class size is approximately 19 students and classes are capped at 28 students. Some specialized classes may be smaller; some general courses may be slightly larger.

CEA CAPA Prague Center
The CEA CAPA Prague Center is located in the historic Old Town district. Courses give you the opportunity to further your academic pursuits in a variety of subjects with Prague as your classroom.
Courses bring the diverse history, politics, culture, economics, and art of the Czech Republic to life, incorporating components that expose you to different elements of Prague, from monuments and museums to businesses, local food markets, and government agencies. You’ll be encouraged to explore on your own and draw connections between the subjects you study and the observations you make outside of the classroom. Not only will you get to know your host city, you’ll also gain insight into how the Czech Republic fits into the larger European context.

Accreditation
Courses taught at the CEA CAPA Prague Center have been designed in conjunction with, and approved by, the University of New Haven (UNH). In addition, faculty appointments have been approved by UNH. After the successful completion of a session at the CEA CAPA Prague Center, you will receive credit for your work from UNH. Located in Connecticut, the University of New Haven is a student-focused, comprehensive university that’s fully accredited by the New England Commission of Higher Education (NECHE). The agreement between CEA CAPA and UNH follows the highest standards of good practice in education abroad and satisfies the rigorous requirements of the University's institutional accreditor, making credits earned at the CEA CAPA Prague Center easily transferable to US-accredited institutions. Grading
Professors at the CEA CAPA Prague Center carefully evaluate student's work and progress throughout their academic session. When calculating final grades, instructors consider written and oral exercises, homework assignments, attendance, classroom participation, and exam performance.

Classroom and Information
- Classes are taught by international faculty.
- Periodic exams, homework assignments, and final exams will be administered.
- Attendance in all classes is mandatory and monitored by each professor.
- You’ll attend class with other CEA CAPA students.
- The maximum class size is 25 students for language courses and 25 students for electives. Small class sizes mean more personalized attention from your instructors.

You’ll enroll in 2 - 3 CEA CAPA courses and 2 UNYP courses.
CEA CAPA & UNYP courses meet for 45 contact hours and count for 3 semester credits. Students may earn 12–15 semester credits (up to 225 contact hours) credits per semester. Classes meet at various times, Monday through Friday. Active learning components required by your courses may be scheduled for Fridays.
Prior to departure, you will select your preferred courses. You will be enrolled into courses based on availability and further changes can be made during the add/drop period at the beginning of the semester. It is in your best interest to have multiple alternative courses approved by your home university prior to your departure due to course availabilities. Students may either be placed in a single bedroom within a shared apartment OR in a single bedroom within apartment with only single bedrooms.
Please note, there is a limited amount of single options apartments and single apartments cannot be guaranteed. If roommate requests are provided, priority will be given to that request first over the specific housing type request.

Get out and explore! Excursions are offered for most semester, year, and summer programs. Semester students are typically offered between two to three excursions and summer study students are typically offered between one to two excursions.
